First repeat

Pattern Emporium On Repeat Woven T-shirt with long sleeves, size AU6, 1.5 yards black airflow, high V-neck, cropped regular length, split hem, no back center seam, sloped-shoulder adjustment, 1.5-inch shortened sleeves.

I finally got around to making the Pattern Emporium On Repeat Woven T-shirt that came out in September. Other sewists have already made many, and I’m sure this will not be my last one. The bodice shape is similar to the Pattern Emporium Be Mine top, which I have made several of. On Repeat has a variety of neck options, simple sleeves, and some new hem options, including a cropped hem with optional side slits. The cropped hem version also brings the side seam in a bit so it is a closer fit. I’ve made Be Mine tops in size AU 8 (which is my correct size based on my upper bust measurement) and size AU 6 (sizing down a size). The 8 is looser on me than I would like, so I generally prefer the size 6. I decided to just go ahead with the size 6 for this top and also make my usual sloped-shoulder adjustment and 1.5-inch sleeve shortening. I used a polyester airflow crinkle fabric in black, which is lightweight to wear and has a nice drape, but doesn’t require any ironing. It also has a bit of give to it, which makes it easier to sew and wear.

I found the instructions for On Repeat to be easy to follow and I like the neckline instructions (although the more traditional approach used in Be Mine also worked fine for me). I made the high V-neck option, which has a really nice shape and is not too low cut. The instructions for the slit were also easy, but this detail takes a bit more time to make. It all came together fairly easily.

In hindsight, I probably did not need to shorten the sleeves, perhaps because I sized down the whole pattern. Also, because the crop version fits closer to the body, I probably could have gone with the size 8, although I think the size 6 is just fine.

I’m modeling On Repeat here with my PE Making Moves pants.
