1. Write a short summary of each chapter or article in the reading assignment (2-5 sentences each). After each summary (in a separate paragraph) provide a "highlight" for that chapter. This can be something new you learned that you found particularly interesting, a point you would like to discuss further in class, a question the chapter did not fully answer, something you found confusing, a point you disagree with, or anything else you found noteworthy. [25 points]

2. Give two examples of cases where the US government used personal data inappropriately to violate the civil liberties of US citizens. Explain each case briefly and cite relevant sources. [20 points]

2. Attend Marc Langheinrich's talk at noon on November 3 in HBH1000. Write a short (one-page) report in which you summarize the talk and discuss one or more points you found interesting or noteworthy (or even something you disagreed with). [25 points]

3. Pick one of the following government programs: Clipper, Echelon, CAPS II, TIA, Carnivore, CALEA, MATRIX [25 points]

4. Do part 3 of the privacy policy project. [25 points]
